Artist: Yu Seong Eun (유성은) Song: Be OK (Blues Ver.) Album: Be OK EP
The MV is the original version of the song but I personally think that this type of style fits her voice much more. Yu Seong Eun was a contestant in the audition show, Voice Korea: Season 1, who made it all the way to the TOP4. Her charismatic, soulful voice definitely wowed the judges and the crowd, leading to her debut and hopefully promising more releases in the future!
“I don’t believe in guilty pleasures. If you fucking like something, like it. That’s what’s wrong with our generation: that residual punk rock guilt, like, “You’re not supposed to like that. That’s not fucking cool.” Don’t fucking think it’s not cool to like Britney Spears’ “Toxic.” It is cool to like Britney Spears’ “Toxic”! Why the fuck not? Fuck you! That’s who I am, goddamn it! That whole guilty pleasure thing is full of fucking shit.”—Dave Grohl (via bootykhaleesi)
“Be the kind of friend that you want to have.
This is what it all boils down to. Listen when they bitch. Tell them they’ll be okay. Go over and check in on their cat when they’re on vacation. Call them on their birthday, or better yet bake a cake in the shape of their initial. Keep their secrets. Treat them like what they are—the rare person in this world who gives a f* about you not because they have to, but because they want to. Give a f* about them.”—Kelly Williams Brown (via middlenameconfused)
“Closing your eyes isn’t going to change anything. Nothing’s going to disappear just because you can’t see what’s going on. In fact, things will even be worse the next time you open your eyes. That’s the kind of world we live in. Keep your eyes wide open. Only a coward closes his eyes. Closing your eyes and plugging up your ears won’t make time stand still.”—Haruki Murakami (via seoulxsearching)
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”—Marianne Williamson (via seoulxsearching)
“Instead of saying “I don’t have time” try saying “it’s not a priority,” and see how that feels. Often, that’s a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just don’t want to. But other things are harder. Try it: “I’m not going to edit your résumé, sweetie, because it’s not a priority.” “I don’t go to the doctor because my health is not a priority.” If these phrases don’t sit well, that’s the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don’t like how we’re spending an hour, we can choose differently.”—Fascinating Wall Street Journal Article on being busy (via theglasschild)
